Direct flight to Kraków
There is an international airport in Balice in Kraków. Balice has direct connections to many European destinations including Amsterdam, Berlin, Bologna, Birmingham, Bristol, Brussels, Budapest, Cologne/Bonn, Dortmund, Dublin, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Glasgow, Hamburg, Liverpool, London (4 airports), Manchester, Milan, Munich, Oslo, Paris, Prague, Rome, Stuttgart, Vienna and Zurich (see current timetable).
The Balice airport is located about 11 km from the city centre. You can reach it by:
A taxi, which costs approximately 100 PLN on a working day between 06:00 and 22:00, and approximately 180 PLN on a holiday, Sunday or during the night (22:00 - 06:00).
Public bus number 292 or 208. Tickets (4 PLN each) are available in trafika kiosks at the airport or from ticket machine on the 292 stop; remember to validate (punch) each ticket after boarding the bus. It takes about 35-40 minutes to get to the city centre. The bus stop is located directly at the roundabout, in front of the passenger terminal.
A train. Tickets (8 PLN each) may be purchased on board or from ticket machines in terminal T1 or on board of train. It takes about 17 min to reach Kraków Główny Railway Station. More information at the airport's website.
There are two hotels close to the workshop location (about 1 km, 15-20 minutes walk).
A number of reservations has been made in both hotels for the workshop participants. Please specify code “EG-ICE ’16” when mailing/calling to book a room.
